What is Threads?
Meta's text-based Twitter competitor is Threads. You can make an account by logging in with your Instagram credentials because it is connected to your Instagram account.
Threads have surpassed the milestone of 10 million signups just hours after introduction. It reached 30M signups in less than 24 hours.
How to use Threads?
More than 100 nations presently provide the platform on iOS and Android devices. The app is temporarily unavailable in the EU owing to privacy concerns. You may follow everyone you follow because you are logging in using your Instagram account. Additionally, your username, name, and settings like a block list will be imported.
How is it different from Twitter?
- Threads have a 500-character limit, according to Meta, whereas unverified Twitter users are limited to 280 characters.
- For Threads, users must have an Instagram account, and they can import their followers and bio information from their current Instagram profile.
- While Twitter only allows non-verified users to publish films of two minutes and 20 seconds, Threads allows anyone (including unverified ones) to post five-minute videos.
- Twitter's homepage provides personalized recommendations and trending topics, whereas there is presently no other way to explore Threads but to navigate through the home feed.
- Through a link, you can access Thread postings and profiles online. However, you are unable to post using your own account when you log in.
- According to Meta's "Supplemental Privacy Policy," you can deactivate your Threads account, but in order to completely erase the account, you must also delete your Instagram account.
- Users of the app cannot be messaged via the app.
